NETWORKS AND ORGANISATIONS

Arts Emergency supports young people in higher education and creative spaces. They provide mentoring and focused Youth Community with the aim of supporting young people from underrepresented backgrounds into a career in the creative industries.

Backstage Niche is a collective of freelance workers working in creative fields. They aim to inform the younger generation from various global backgrounds of the possibility of a career in backstage theatre via various avenues, including diverse representation.

Black Lives in Music addresses inequality within the music industry, supporting Black, Asian and Ethnically Diverse musicians to work towards their ambitions. This is being achieved by a combination of data-based research, and work to provide better professional opportunities to create a level playing field.

Freelancers Make Theatre Work is an inclusive community, made up of freelance workers with the aim to encourage transparent conversations about the needs of freelancers. They campaign to raise awareness of the importance as freelancers, as well as providing a platform for these workers to voice their opinions.

Funny Women aims to show women from all walks of life how to use comedy as a method of confidence building. They contribute to gender parity in the comedy industry by providing workshops, crash courses and an annual awards ceremony for women attempting to break into comedy.

Tonic utilises specialised training programmes and support for arts organisations to get to the root of existing inequalities and make long-lasting and wide-spread change, finding the reasoning behind barriers and creating solutions.

THEATRE COMPANIES

Broccoli Arts produce work for different mediums, typically for, by and about lesbian, bisexual & queer people who experience misogyny. 

Cardboard Citizens create work with and for those who experience inequity, homelessness and poverty, aiming to unlock the possibilities of theatre and art for those experiencing injustice.

Chickenshed Theatre brings together different communities in various capacities to create diverse work inspired by the world around us.

Clean Break uses theatre to unpack the damage done by the criminal justice system, aiming to positively change the experiences of women in prison.

Dogmouth Theatre specialises in the amplification of female voices in theatre, and the presentation of feminine rage. They represent queer women and marginalised genders with a focus on those from underrepresented backgrounds, providing a space to learn and experiment free of judgement.

Ramps on the Moon enriches stories by elevating performers and backstage workers with disabilities.

Sexquisite platform sex worker artists across different mediums of performance by offering paid creative work, as well as working across the board to de-stigmatise sex work.

Vital Xposure is a disabled-led company offering a variety of theatre productions that provide quality experience for disabled artists and audiences.
